Dear Mr. Tarbox,

Want you to pass on to your staff what a GREAT job they did when I came in to purchase a new 2015 Toyota Camry. The whole process was virtually effortless and took less than three hours thanks to the efforts of Tucker McDonough, Mitch Carter, Edgar Pinto with an assist from Zach ( from Coventry ).

I feel it is the way buying a car should go, as most people dread going in to get a new car and equate it with having a root canal. In fact, at another dealership I almost got into a fight over the poor treatment and underhandedness of their sales staff and support group.

Again I think you should compliment your staff, all concerned, for a Great Job ! I felt that both parties came away Winners as it should be.

Thanks again,

Bruce R. Mastracchio

Dear Ed,

I live in Warwick and have purchased several cars new and used cars either for myself, my wife, daughter-in-law (Douglas, MA) and her mother (Franklin, MA).  I am currently in the process of purchasing a 2010 Tacoma on behalf of my son who lives in Manhattan, NY. My sales rep Tim

Kane thought you might find this circle as unusual as I'm sure he did.  I am a graduate of Hendricken '62 and my 4 sons are also graduates '86,  '87 '89 and '01.  I was told several years ago that you were also graduate which is how I bought my first car at your dealership.  It was a used car but I found the whole experience very pleasant.  I am currently retired but was in sales all my working career and so I can appreciate the courtesy, professionalism and customer satisfaction I have experienced at your dealership.  There have been a couple of bumps in the road but it amazed me when I was able to reach you personally on your cell and get them solved.  Now to meat of this e-mail.

My son Matt '86, who lives in Manhattan,  recently was talking to me about buying a used Tacoma. I suggested he let me try your dealership.  At first he was a little hesitant because of the distance, although I have purchased other major items for him because he travels a lot.  In any event he gave me his wish list (on a used Tacoma no less).  What the heck I figured, based on past experience,  let's start at Tarbox.  I met with Tim not even knowing if you had a used Tacoma close to what he wanted.  I really think Tim thought I was a little looney when I told him what I was doing.  But to his credit he checked his list and explained some of the tough things about finding a used Tacoma that you don't face with more common vehicles.  However, he had one vehicle on the lot that, believe it or not almost fit my son's request exactly.  It was however outside of what my son wanted to spend based on how infrequently the truck is used.  I understand sales and profit etc. so I was ready to leave.  To Tim's credit he asked me if I wanted to at least look at the vehicle. I explained that there was really no sense in that because

I wasn't in any rush nor was I buying it for myself.  He said let's at least see if there was any sense to seeing if I liked it and then take it from there.  Obviously I looked at the truck, we were able to come very close to what my son wanted to spend and my search ended at your dealership.  I spoke with my son in NY told him about my confidence in you and your dealership and as I write this there is a deposit on the Tacoma and a check is on it's way to me for the balance on the vehicle.  I'm sure it must be unusual for a RI dealer to sell to NY so I thought I would pass this along even though it is a long story.  I am sure that my confidence in your dealership will be there if my son or I need it.

Sincerely,

Don Masseur

Once again, visited Tarbox to get 4 new tires for my husband's Tacoma.

Dealt with Peter, who is such a nice young man.  We checked out prices at Townfair Tire, but when it comes to quality AND quality of service, no one can beat you guys.

Also, I saw your (I think it is a Mercedes) car in the showroom.

Santa can bring that to me this year.  I love it. Have a wonderful Christmas and prosperous and healthy New Year.

Hello Ed,

I wanted to let you know my husband, Harry and I just purchased our 3rd Hyundai. This time we bought a Santa Fe. We traded in our '06 Tuscon and presently also have a 2011 Touring.

We can't tell you how pleasant an experience Matt made it for us. He was courteous, profesional, knowledgable, respectful and did whatever he could to make sure we were happy with our purchase. He always returned phone calls promptly and answered all our questions

We actually looked forward to going to the dealership during the purchase process because we knew we'd be seeing Matt's smiling face.

Scott Henderson was also very helpful in the purchase of our Santa Fe. It had been our intent to purchase another Tuscon but with their input we choose a Santa Fe.

In this fast paced world, we think it's important to let you know how exceptional our experience was because of Matt.

I just wanted to express my grattitude on my wonderful experience I had at Tarbox Toyota on Thursday March 28. From the moment I walked into the dealership, I was very impressed. My salesman was Denny. He was extremly helpful and informative. Sarkis was my financial rep. He too was excellent. Denny was very personalble and is an asset to your company. I will definatly recommend your dealership to anyone I come across in need of a new vehicle.
Thankyou

I brought my Toyota Highlander in today because I was smelling a burning odor.

I was impressed at how Eric Robbins greeted me by name and then explained some of the
possible reasons for the odor.

My car was ready an hour later and it had totally been checked out and they didn't find any problem.
Since my car has high mileage, I was very relieved to find out that there wasn't a problem.  The best part
was that there wasn't any charge.  The excellent service and friendly personnel at your dealership keeps
me coming back.

I love my Toyota!

Hello,

I just wanted to express my gratitude to your company for the great service I received on my car today (3/5/13). I have been going to Midas for oil changes and service for quite a while, but after they recently told me my less than 5 year old car needed $1,000 worth of work on it, I decided to get a second opinion. My husband and I bought our Prius from Toyota Tarbox last year, and we were impressed with the service, so I decided to come back to have my car checked out. I had a 2:00 pm appointment, and I must say that the employee who I talked to was very professional and I immediately felt I could trust him to tell me exactly what my car actually needed, repair wise. I wish I could remember his name. To make a long story short, I found out that my car did need some work, but it only needed 1 of the 3 things that Midas said I needed repaired. I can not tell you how thankful I am for the honesty and sincerity that was displayed today by your company and employee. I will be taking my car to Toyota from now on. Each staff member I spoke with today was so friendly and professional and I am extremely happy with the service I received today!

Thank you again,

Dear Mr. Tarbox,

I was not able to complete your survey to evaluate salesmen because of computer problems, so I decided to email you.  Yesterday I completed a purchase of a 2013 Camry at your North Kingston Dealership.  It must be said that Paul Rocchio was indeed the ultimate professional, who showed interest, care and understanding towards me and my concerns about the purchase of the care. He led me through the process seamlessly.  The sale almost did not happen, but by Paul putting in the extra effort, we did complete the sale.

Car salesmen, in general, have a reputation of just trying to sell a car.  Paul, on the other hand is a salesman that should be held up as to what all salesmen should stand for.  You should understand that I have been purchasing Camry's since the early 1970's.  That is a lot of years and a lot of cars.  My last experience at Tarbox, in 2008, did not end well.  We were only $100.00 apart and could not make a deal.  That happened after I had just bought a new 2007 months earlier at your dealership.

I felt extremely comfortable with Paul and the manner in which he treated me.  In fact, by the end of the process, I felt like he was a member of the family.  I am 71 years old and have through this dance, of buying a car many times, and I have to say that this was the BEST experience that I have ever had.

Compliments to Paul and the entire staff for making this purchase an extremely pleasant one.  If you have a program to honor a salesman, please put my vote for Paul.  Maybe you could give him a raise or a coupon for a free meal.

All of these accolades might lead you to believe I am a relative.  Not so.

Again, Paul deserves a pat on the back and you and your staff should look for more like him

In closing, I was helped by two or three staff members over the past two days and all were extremely helpful

Thank you for your dealership.

Ed: My wife and I met you on Monday when you came over to the visitor's waiting area and introduced yourself.  Edgar Pinto has spoken to us as we emerged from our car and was off getting information for us.

We came in with the idea of just seeing what was available.  We live near the Wellesley Toyota and, if we did buy a car, our plan was to return there.  Ed made the difference.  From word one, we were convinced by his openness, directness and knowledge.  We are "pressure-resistant" type, but Ed let the car we bought yesterday sell itself.

We come away very impressed with you operation, but especially with Ed.  I cannot believe he has such a level of maturity at only 25. We wish he were our neighbor.   It was truly a pleasure doing business with him.

All best.

Kevin

Hi, Ed. I'm a long-time customer. Just a word to let you know that you have a top-notch team, especially service, where of course I have most of my contact. They are always courteous and efficient, and I trust them. I have had several occasions where they advised against work I thought I needed.

On one occasion I bought tires for my 2011 Camry that were not satisfactory, and they replaced them not once but twice. I wasn't happy with the poor quality of the tires, but your team wasted no time in making sure they got me ultimately satisfied.

Keep up the good work.

Dear Ed,

I wanted to share the experience my family and I had last night at Tarbox Toyota.  My husband and I both left the dealership feeling the same way and all I can say is WOW!!  My husband spoke with Liz on the phone to get the credit application done and other basic information.  She was great, getting everything ready so when we arrived with our 3 daughters, half the work was done.  We were introduced to Angelo, what a great guy!  He was so good with the kids and spoke to us like we knew each other for years.  He did not have that sales man mentality of to sell, sell, sell.  He shared with us about his family and plans to retire in Florida, truly a great person to deal with.  Everyone was so professional and friendly.  The facility is absolutely gorgeous and the kids enjoyed the free popcorn.  We are very pleased with purchasing the 2014 ½ Camry LE.  No games back and forth regarding the monthly payments, the advertised price was the actual price.  Overall, a great experience from beginning to end.  We are looking forward to picking up the car on Thursday.  You have a great staff and business moto.  Thank you again for servicing our needs.  We will definitely be recommending Tarbox to our family and friends!!

Sincerely,

Kevin & Christy

This was the first time I've used your facility for service -- I just bought my sister's 2008 "creampuff" Prius because she bought a new one. She'd had all her service done at a NC dealer. I brought it in for regular maintenance and had my daughter with me.

My experience at Tarbox Toyota was excellent. Your waiting area is clean, bright, very pleasant, and even more important all of your employees are nice from those I met when we first drove in to when we left. I admire how the express service is set up -- the work flow is very efficient. I enjoyed the coffee and the free manicure while I waited, and the wait was not too long. There was no attempt to "upsell" or pressure me and I felt the bill was reasonable. I only had LOF and tire rotation but I had asked them to let me know if there was anything else that should be done at 87000 miles. As I left, I felt the stamp of approval on the car, that everything had been carefully looked at and I was "good to go" till the next service. And to top it off, they washed and vacuumed the car, which I totally did not expect. The whole experience made me feel like a valued customer. I had the impression that your employees took good care of me and my car. I observed other customers getting similar attention.

I can see how your approach makes business sense. After this sort of careful and respectful attention to me and my car, I actually look forward to getting my car serviced there again. What a concept -- getting maintenance on a car is a treat! I will come back to Tarbox Toyota myself, and I will recommend your facility to a friend. My experience makes me more trusting of your dealership, which is saying a lot. Dealers, rightly or wrongly, have a reputation of treating customers unfairly -- charging too much for work done, doing work that doesn't need to be done, etc. After seeing how your facility works, f I were buying a car, I would definitely give Tarbox heavy consideration.

Dear Ed!

All I can say is, “wow!” I will be 54 next month and, in my younger years, worked in two different dealerships in RI and have LOTS of experience with car places. I also have spent years training people in the churches where I have served on hospitality so I recognize quality when I see it. In all that time, I have NEVER seen the hospitality that my family has received at Tarbox Hyundai in Warwick…no joke!

Among other things, I was pleasantly surprised when I was given a loaner while they worked on my 2009 Altima that we purchased there on Labor Day weekend. Today Gary (in service) and his team REALLY went over the top…when I came back from my chaplaincy time in Pawtucket to pick up my car, he nonchalantly told me that they washed AND vacuumed my car…he said as if EVERY dealership does that! J  Like I said, WOW!”

Hospitality is ALWAYS a wise investment of time and money for a business AND/OR a church! I have been bragging about your dealership every place I go! Keep up the good work and God bless you all!
